ExitReality’s Privacy Policy covers the collection, use and disclosure of personal information that may be collected by ExitReality when you register an account with us or use the ExitReality Player Software or related Services. We collect your personal information because it helps us to deliver your 3D web experience and make it relevant and interesting to you.
Please take a moment to read the following to learn how we handle personal information, including what type of information is gathered, how the information is used and for what purposes, to whom we disclose the information, and how we safeguard your personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies only to information ExitReality collects about you as a user of the ExitReality Player Software (the “Software”), ExitReality websites (the “Sites”) or the associated content linking services (“Services”). This policy does not apply to information about you collected by ExitReality’s affiliated providers, or third party Web sites and offerings linked to or otherwise accessible via the Software, Sites or Services. The information collected or received by ExitReality’s affiliated providers and these third parties is subject to their own privacy policies.

Collection of Personal Information

Your ExitReality information consists of personally identifiable information collected or received about you when you interact with ExitReality’s Software, Sites and Services as a Registered User. You may use the Software without being a Registered User, but some of the facilities of the Software and the Services (including the ability to see other users’ avatars, chat and save decorations) are only available to Registered Users. Depending on how you use the Software, your ExitReality information may include:

  • (a) registration-related information (such as name, e-mail address and approximate age),
  • (b) information about your visits to 3D websites and pages, and your responses to the offerings and advertisements presented on these websites and pages,
  • (c) information identifying webpage URLs that you have registered,
  • (d) information relating to User Content that you have placed within your virtual 3D space,
  • (e) information about the searches you perform through the Software or Sites and how you use the results of those searches,
  • (f) communications with other Registered Users via the Messenger chat facility,
  • (g) customer service information about you as Registered ExitReality User, or
  • (h) other information specifically related to your use of the ExitReality Software, Sites or Services.

Your ExitReality information may be supplemented with additional information from other companies.

Your ExitReality information may also include certain technical information gathered or received when you use the Software. Some of the technical information that may be collected or received includes:

  • (a) the type of browser you are using,
  • (b) the type of operating system you are using,
  • (c) CPU type,
  • (d) your manner of connecting to the Internet,
  • (e) Internet protocol address,
  • (f) information about the version of the Software that you are using,
  • (g) the domain name of your Internet service provider, and
  • (h) other information about your geographic location.

How Your Information is Used

ExitReality only processes personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and the accompanying Terms of Service agreement. Such purposes include:

  • (a) providing our Software and Services to users, including the display of User Content and advertising,
  • (b) auditing and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our Software, Site and Services,
  • (c) ensuring the technical functioning of our Software, Site and Services,
  • (d) developing new Software and Services, and
  • (e) communicating with you and responding to your inquiries.

The ExitReality Player incorporates the Messenger chat facility. You should be aware that any information that you input into a text chat window is visible to other users. Personally identifiable information that you submit to a chat session at a webpage or other computer location can be read, collected, or used by other individuals to send you unsolicited messages. Once you have posted a message using ExitReality Messenger, it is not possible to edit or delete that message. ExitReality is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in chat sessions or otherwise make available via the Software.

You should also be aware that the buddy tracking system that is part of ExitReality Player is designed to notify your buddies of the URL of the current Internet location that you are viewing in 3D. If you do not wish to broadcast your 3D browsing history to your ExitReality buddies then you must ensure that you are either logged out or have set your status to “appear offline”.

Information Sharing and Onward Transfer

ExitReality takes your privacy very seriously. ExitReality does not sell or rent your contact information to other marketers. We provide advertisers only aggregated non-personal information such as the number of times one of their ads was inserted, viewed or clicked. We do not sell, rent or otherwise share your personal information with any third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • (a) We have your permission. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of sensitive personal information.
  • (b) We provide personal information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses so that they can process the information on our behalf. These parties must also comply with the terms of this privacy policy and may also be subject to other confidentiality agreements.
  • (c) We believe on reasonable grounds that access, use, preservation or disclosure of personal information is reasonably necessary to:
    1. meet our obligations under any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request,
    2. enforce our Terms of Service agreement, including investigation of potential breaches,
    3. detect and prevent fraud, security or technical issues, or
    4. protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of ExitReality’s users, staff or the public as required or permitted by law.
  • (d) We transfer personal information if ExitReality is merged with or acquired by another company. In this event, ExitReality will notify you before any personal information is transferred to the other company and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Advertising

This site uses various means of advertising including search, display advertising and retargeting.

Third-party vendors show our ads on sites across the Internet.

This site and third-party vendors use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on visitor’s past visits to this site.

Visitors can opt-out or customize Google Display Network ads using the Google Ads Preferences Manager.

Your Choices

ExitReality provides you with access to your registration information and the ability to edit this information. Additionally, some ExitReality services may offer you the ability to control what information is collected or used when you use these services.

Our Commitment to Security

ExitReality has established procedures to prevent unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, destruction or disclosure of data (although we cannot guarantee that your personal information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy). These procedures include audits of our data collection, storage and processing methodologies and security measures, as well as physical security measures in order to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to ExitReality staff, contractors and agents who need to know that information to further develop and improve our Software, Site and Services. Confidentiality agreements are in place with these individuals, who may be subject to disciplinary action, including termination and criminal prosecution, should they fail to meet their obligations under these contracts.

To protect your privacy and data security, the ExitReality Software uses usernames and passwords to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to any of your ExitReality information.

Special Note for Parents

The ExitReality Software is intended for general use. Children under the age of thirteen are permitted to register an account with ExitReality, but only with parental consent. Upon registration an email requesting permission for the creation of an account is sent to the child’s parent. Clicking on the link within the body of the email will automatically register the account.

ExitReality does not contact children under age 13 about special offers or for marketing purposes without a parent’s permission.

Changes to this Privacy Policy and Additional Information

ExitReality may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, so you should review this Policy periodically. If there are significant changes to ExitReality’s information practices, you will be notified.
